Where the Passion Begins
Shakira Onwuachi, MSW, LGSW, is the Founder, CEO, and Principal Creative Mastermind of Kuumba Collective. She has over 15 years of experience in non-profit management, program curation, and youth development. She has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults with diverse backgrounds in a multitude of settings including schools, nonprofit organizations, and group homes with a track record of promoting social-emotional development, academic success and, mental wellness.
Shakira is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in the State of Minnesota. She holds a master's degree in Social Work with a specialized concentration in Children, Program, and Community Development with a specialization in Management & Social Entrepreneurship from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Shakira earned her bachelor's degree from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) where she majored in Psychology and minored in Sociology.
